Ca. 1897 New Ithaca NIG Wells Fargo Marked Shotgun

This is a New Ithaca Gun NIG double barrel side-by-side shotgun chambered in 12 gauge with a serial number of 29553, dating the gun to circa 1897. The shotgun is stamped and bears a plaque that is marked on the left, “Wells Fargo Express A.M. Parker SP. CA? / P (in a shield) / Wells Fargo Property 5 (in a circle seal)” and the right side on a brass oval plaque, “WELLS FARGO 5 S.F. CAL 1892 EXPRESS”. The gun shows a case-hardened receiver marked on each side, “NEW ITHACA GUN” in an engraved banner design. There are exposed side hammers on each side, both click back and fire. The inside of the receiver is marked with the serial number “29553” as well as “W.F. & CO.”, “A”, and “12”. The shotgun has 19 inches long double barrels with twisted Damascus / laminated Damascus barrels that are marked under the bottom “29553” and “W.F. & Co.” and a “P” under the foregrip catch. The shotgun has a double set of triggers, tilt down barrel from top lever with shell ejectors. Measures overall 35 inches long. Antique Firearm does NOT require FFL.
