Featured in this lot is this Louis XV French Provincial copper lavabo pair circa 18th century. There are two lavabo basins in this collection. The first is the largest and most notable and collectable pattern to the face of a shield being held by two lions with period correct patina and two spouts the lid is similarly decorated with two protruding pylons. The second is smaller and is a more simple basin with a single spout male end (missing the brass spout) and shows a ornate lid with a brass pylon reaching for the sky. The condition of this pair of lavabo basins is preserved for their age with some wear tot he smaller basin showing a hole in the lid and the spout missing; the bigger one shows loose spouts and some patina to the body but otherwise is in preserved condition. The measurements of these two basin's is 17 3/4" x 13 1/2" x 5 3/4" and 17 1/2" x 7 1/4" x 7 1/2". The collective weight of this pair of lavabo basins are 9lb 14oz.
