The lot feature four original hand-colored photographs from circa 1900-1939 showing images of Northern Plains to Southern Plains / Pueblo Native American Indians, many signed. The first and largest in this lot shows a Northern Plains Native American man Looking past the photographer into the distance. He wears a feathered headdress and colorful traditional clothing. The second photo was taken in 1939 and shows three Native American people, an older man and woman and a younger man. The photo is slightly hand colored and shows some green on the womans clothing. The back is marked reading, "Daniel River Wyo. / Nov. 28, 1939". The third photo was taken by Arthur Roy Mitchell shows Pueblo children in the streets of Taos, New Mexico in 1910. Adobes can be seen behind the children and the children are looking towards the camera with a curious look. The back of the photo is marked reading, "Taken At Taos 1910 / A.R.M. / Arthur Roy Mitchell Trinidad, CO.". The fourth and final photo was taken by Jim R. Wright and shows a group of Northern Plains Native Americans riding on horses through the snow covered ground. The back of the photo is marked reading, "Jim R. Wright 7960 Raleigh Westminster CO. / Hand Colored / Colorado". The photos in this lot show good condition overall with slight wear present from their age and use over the years, but no signs of major damage is noted. They measure from 10" L x 7 7/8" W to 4 3/8" L x 6 1/2" W. They have a collective weight of under 6 ounces.
