This is an original Deadwood, South Dakota circa 1920-1930’s Dailey Manufacturing Company countertop roulette wheel. This frontier roulette wheel features an unusual design, showing dice numbers rather than the original 00-36 numbered slots. On the outside of the wheel are the sections showing three different numbered dice in each. Towards the center are tall metal spokes that the plastic pointer runs through to decide the winning numbers. In the center of the wheel is a cut metal piece showing diamond shapes and a small hole. The roulette wheel shows colors of green, red, black, beige and white. Along with the wheel, it comes with the original betting mat. The betting map shows yellow boxes, numbered 1 through 6 on the left and ride side with red, green and black rectangles above the boxes. The betting mat would have been used by players to place their chips on the numbers they wanted to bet on. The wheel and mat are both housed in the original wood carrying case. The carrying case features two snap locks, a slot to put a key lock, and two hook and loop locks on either side to secure the case. The top features a handle for easy carrying. Overall the mat, the wheel and the carry case show good condition overall with wear present from their age and use over the years, but no signs of major damage is noted. The wheel measures 24" in diameter and 3 3/4" in height. The mat measures 118 3/4" in length and 36 1/4" W. The carrying case measures 26 1/4" L x 28" W x 6 1/2" H. The pieces have a collective weight of 36 pounds and 4 ounces.
