Featured in this lot is this late 1920s / early 1930s, Out West Saddlery (A.A. Cuen) black leather saddle, with sterling silver hand engraved parade adornments. Albert (A.A.) Cuen was a Southern California saddle maker who operated Out West Saddlery for roughly 15 years, producing high-quality, collectible saddles until his death in the 1940s. He often collaborated with other prominent makers, including silversmith Phillip Fredholm, before establishing his own brand. The shop was briefly run by his daughter after he passed away. This saddle shows a black leather construction with a triangular, geometric pattern throughout the entirety of the saddle. It has six sterling conchos on the saddle, three on each side and shows metal covered wood and leather stirrups. The makers mark is present on the seat rise reading, "Out West Saddlery / A.A. Cuen Maker / Los Angeles, Cal". It shows good condition overall with slight wear present from its age and use over the years, but no major signs of damage is noted. It measures 28 1/2" L x 27 1/2" W x 14 7/8" H and weighs 33 pounds.
