Featured in this lot is this Navajo Chinle Trading Post rug circa 1920. The Navajo rug features a wonderfully and professionally crafted wool and natural dye construction that shows a central configuration of a lined medallion with the traditional Chinle border of off white set to a heathered grey field and shows stepped geometric tatters with black and gold colors shown present. The rug features a number of lazy lines included in the weave and shows the genuine mastery of Navajo rug weaving potential. The condition of this Navajo rug is well preserved with some aging to the off white part of the weave but otherwise shows a well preserved overall condition. The measurements of this Navajo rug is 51 1/2" x 35". The thread count of this rug is 154 threads per square inch.
