The lot features two original circa 1920-1930's Hall China Company porcelain both of which were recovered from Great Falls, formerly used at Montana Hotels. The first shows a white classic form porcelain spitoon cuspidor stamped on the bottom HALL. The other shows a deep green and white porcelain spittoon cuspidor, often referred to by collector as Avocado Green or Olive Green. While the green example is a documented Hall pattern the mark is absent, which is common. The Hall China Company was founded in 1903 by Robert Hall in East Liverpool, Ohio, he later died in 1904 and the business was taken over by one of Hall's eight children, Robert Taggart Hall. The white example measures 7.5-inches in diameter by 4.5-inches high. The green example is 7.25-inch diameter by 4 3/8-inches high.
