The lot features four pieces of original circa 1930-1950’s E. Dehillerin Paris, France copper cookware. The lot includes two pots that are each marked, “E. DEHILLERIN PARIS” inside an oval, these are accompanied by an early vintage original copper lids. André Charles Eugène de Hillerin de Préssec (1855-1902), known as Eugène, began his business “in the 1880’s”, with the purchase of quincailleries-chaudronneries in Paris which was both a hardware and copper smithing workshop dating back to circa 1820’s. Later Eugène passed away but his legacy lived on with Dehillerin copper pans becoming central to the Parisian cooking industry. It was at Dehillerin that Julia Child’s walked into a store and purchased pots between 1948 and 1952, the same vintage as the pans offered in this lot. Both pans have a nice well kept copper body with cast iron handles and copper lids all being kept in good condition. These pans are ready to be displayed as a collectible piece or put to work as intended. The largest pan measures 14.5-inches long with handle, 8-inches in diameter. 8.5-inches tall at the handle and 4.5-inches tall at the pot. The larger lid is 15-inches long by 8.25-inches wide. The other pan is 10.5-inches long with handle by 5.75-inches in diameter, 6.25-inches high at the handle and 3.25-inches high at the pan. The smaller lid is 10.5-inches long by 5 7/8-inches.
