Featured in this lot is this Mexican banded medallion Saltillo circa 1930's. Provenance: The collectors grandmother and grand father were homesteaders in Hesperus, Colorado in the late 1800's and purchased this rug from the Fort Defiance Trading Post in the 1920-1930's. The rug features a wonderfully and professionally crafted wool construction that shows a banded design with black and white set to a red field and shows medallions throughout of black and white coloration. The rug shows fringe on both ends of the rug. The condition of this Saltillo is well preserved with some discoloration and fading consistent with age but otherwise shows a well preserved overall condition. The measurements of this Mexican Saltillo is 37 1/2" x 18 1/4". The thread count 150 threads per square inch.
