The lot features an Indian hide beaded and painted men's shirt from the Plains from the mid-1900's. The shirt is comprised of Indian tanned hide with sinew like and thread sewing showing pony glass trade beads and painted adornments. The shirt shows fringes, beadwork on the arms, front, back, shoulders, and two beaded bibs, one on the front and back. The beaded bib has beaded Maltese crosses along with red and blue stroud trade clothe. The arms have black paint stripes and the chest and back a red painted surface with symbols in black. The piece is well kept and is a massive size. There are braided hair drops at the shoulders. Measures overall 64-inches wide cuff to cuff and 45-inches long from back of neck to bottom of shirt.
