Featured in this lot is this vintage speedway #844 wood slat sled circa 1950's. The sled features a wonderfully and professionally crafted wood and metal construction that shows a traditional design with slat construction that shows a solid frame. The sled is marked on the top as follows: Speedway. The sled is marked on the bottom as follows: Paris MFG Co. - SO. Paris, M.E. - Sled Makers Since 1861 - MFG. of Quality Furniture - For Schools and Dormitories - Model No. 844. The condition of this Speedway sled is well preserved with some fading to the black paint adorning the metal and to the protective coat tot he wood of the sled but otherwise shows a well preserved condition. The measurements of this sled is 6 1/4" x 21 3/4" x 43". The collective weight of this sled is 9lb 6oz.
