Featured in this lot is this squash blossom complete jewelry set circa 1960's by Navajo artist Roy Vandever (1936-2009). Roy Vandever (1936-2009) was a Navajo silversmith who was known for his squash blossom jewelry sets, he became active in the 1950’s. The set is complete and dates to circa 1960’s showing a squash blossom necklace, bracelet, ring, and pair of earrings all with the matched pattern and signed. The set shows heavy sterling silver work and is set with Roy Vandever’s unique mother of pearl design further adorned with red branch coral polished cabonchos with a rich natural deep red coloring and further accented by the sterling silver leaf and double Navajo pearl concho necklace. The pieces are signed “RV” correctly and are all sterling silver. The jewelry features a wonderfully and professionally crafted sterling silver construction that shows a floral or leaf theme decorations to the naga pendant, the squash blossoms, the shoulders and face of the bracelet, and faces of both the ring and earrings. The condition of this complete jewelry set is well preserved with no obvious signs of damage and shows a well preserved overall condition. The measurements of this necklace is 25 1/2" in length and the naga measures 3 1/2" x 2 1/8", the bracelet measures 2" x 2 3/8" x 1 1/4" and the internal measurements is 4 1/2" and the gap measures 1 1/8", the ring measures 7/8" x 1 1/4" x 3/4" and a ring size of US 6, and the earrings measure 1 3/4" x 3/4". The collective weight of this jewelry set is 215.5g. Roy Vandever sets have previously sold or been valued at over $8,000 that are very similar to this original vintage 1960's set.
