Featured in this lot we have a Carl Gustafs Stads Gevarsfaktori Model 1896 Swedish Mauser bolt action rifle chambered in 6.5x55mm. This bolt action rifle was designed as a replacement for the Remington model 1867-1889 rolling block rifles in 1896 for military use by Mauser and Carl Gustafs Stads Gevärsfaktori. The rifle was produced by Carl Gustafs from 1898 up until 1932, with limited numbers of civilian models produced in the mid 1900's. The rifle features a 31" long round barrel, bolt action, hardwood stock and barrel shroud, 5 shot internal magazine, sight rail, and shoulder strap loops. The receiver is marked across the top reading "Carl Gustafs Stads Gevärsfaktori" underneath the optics rail. The piece is marked on the side with "HK" and the serial number with other parts matching with the lest three digits of the serial number. The rifle shows a working action with the bolt locking back when empty and crisp working trigger. The rifle overall is in good condition with some light wear due to age and use with the rear adjustable iron sight having been removed and the optic rail covering part of the stripper clip guide. The stock features a inlayed brass disk marked with numbers and "Torpedam Overslag Str". Serial Number: 458990. This firearm qualifies as a Curio & Relic firearm, and requires FFL Transfer or NICS Background Check.
