The lot features an original, signed Carl Tolpo oil painting of Mt. Fremont, Wind River, Wyoming from 1968. Carl Tolpo was born in Ludington, Michigan in 1901. During the course of his career, he established his reputation as a portrait, genre, and landscape painter, as well as a portrait and figure sculptor. As a painter, his works in fine oil portraiture particularly include state portraits and landscape oil paintings of the western USA, mostly the Yellowstone Park region. His works are on display in the National Museum of Wildlife Art in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. This original oil painting depicts the scenery of Mt. Fremont, which straddles the boundary between Fremont and Sublette counties in the Wind River Range. This is truly a wonderful piece and would be a fantastic gallery, antique store, tourist store, or collector addition. This piece measures 16" by 12". The piece is marked in the artwork, " Mt. Fremont, Wind River Wyo, 9-7-68, 3-5pm, Carl Tolpo". The back of the artwork is marked "Mt. Fremonth Wyo, 1968".
