For your consideration is this carved wood, Chinese wise man sculpture from the 20th century. Chinese sculptures of wise men have a long and rich history, reflecting cultural values and artistic traditions. These carvings often depict figures associated with wisdom, longevity, and scholarly pursuits, drawing inspiration from Confucianism and Daoism. This sculpture shows an old, skinny man sitting on a log as he looks directly towards the viewer. He has a beard and wears no shirt. The sculpture does not feature any makers mark or company mark. It shows good condition overall with slight wear present from its age and use over the years, but no major signs of damage is noted. It measures 2 7/8" L x 2 3/4" W x 7 3/8" H and weighs 4 ounces.
