Featured in this lot is this antique tribal, hand woven rug originating from the Caucuses Mountain region, from around the first or second quarter of the 20th century. Flat weaved rugs such as this one, were typically crafted by a Caucasian rug maker for personal use, unlike the hand-knotted Persian style rugs that they would typically craft for resale. This rug in particular shows a predominately chocolate brown, and golden base color, with accenting polychrome, geometric sections scattered on the rug. The rug has long cut fringe on each side. There is a strip of hook & loop Velcro which runs the length of the rug on one side. The condition of this rug is well preserved with no obvious signs of damage and shows a well preserved overall condition. The measurements of this rug is 112-inches by 70-inches.
