Included in this lot we have a Charles Damrow oil painting titled "Lion Sunning on a Rock" originating from 1963. Damrow (1916- 1989) is a self taught American artist who was known for his paintings of the wild west. He was enraptured with the nature, Natives and West of the time as a whole and at the age of 13 ran away to the west where he spent most of his time. The painting shows the image of a mountain lion resting on top of a large rock overlooking a canyon or gorge. The painting shows the base of a large mountain in the background. The image is signed on the bottom left side reading "Charles Damrow" and shows a art gallery tag on the back reading "Date 10/63 - Oil of Charles Damrow - Lion Sunning on rock". The piece is set in a gold painted wooden frame and is in good condition for its age. The frame measures 20" wide by 17" tall.
