Featured in this lot is a collection of two (2) vintage western history books from various authors. The first book is titled, "The Story Of The Little Big Horn" by Colonel W. A. Graham and published and copyrighted by the Military Service Publishing Co. in Harrisburg, Pa in 1941. Long accepted as the most comprehensive and accurate account of the greatest battle fought between the White Man and the Red, Colonel Graham tells the story about this famous battle and the last stand of General Custer. The books dust cover features the title and author in black print, with an outline of General Custer in red below that on the front cover. The spine features the same plus the publishers and a red outline of a smoking revolver. The yellow cloth, hardback cover features the same as the dust cover, but is in better condition. The dust cover has tears and wear from its vintage age, but the original hardback cover is in very good condition. The interior pages are in good condition as well. The book measures 9 1/2" L x 6 3/4" W x 1 3/4" D. The second book in this collection is titled, "Indian Heroes and Great Chieftains" by Charles A. Eastman and published by Little, Brown, and Co. in Boston, in 1923. The book was copyrighted by the same company in 1918. This book is about great heroes, warriors and chieftains of the Native American tribes throughout the Great Plains and Western Frontier. Indian Heroes and Great Chieftains provides biographical sketches of 15 great Native American leaders, mostly Sioux, including portraits of Crazy Horse, Sitting Bull, and Spotted Tail. Eastman traces their historical importance to both white and Native peoples. The book shows good condition with very slight wear to the book as a whole. The interior pages are in good condition with no tears or signs of foxing. The book measures 7 1/2" L x 5 1/4" W x 1 1/4" D.
