Offered in this lot is Native American artist Charles Lovato’s "You Give Me Reason To Live" limited edition, signed lithograph. Charles Lovato (1937-1987) was one of the most noted painters to come out of the Santo Domingo Pueblo. He rarely painted with any traditional influence, opting for an abstract style. While his paintings made him famous, he was an artist in many different mediums. He was a poet, muralist, illustrator, and craftsman. This 1977 lithograph is numbered 90/100 and signed in the lower right corner. The subject is filled with symbols from the Pueblo culture. The piece shows a face, an arm with tattoos, a bowl with a deer on it, a raven, a man with corn, and a turkey. The piece is done on paper with an unfinished edge. The paper is then matted. There is slight water damage to the matting, but the art is in good condition. The art measures 30" x 22" and the mat measures 35 ½” X 28".
