Featured in this lot is an acrylic on canvas painting called "Still Life Study" circa 1887 by French artist, Charles Royer, who was born in 1862 and died in 1940. The artwork features a wonderfully and professionally crafted acrylic on canvas construction. The painting is a still life image of various fruits in bowls and a basket set on a table with one of the oranges half peeled. The artist's signature can be seen in the bottom left hand corner of the painting and features a plaque on the front of bottom of the frame that reads as follows: Charles Royer - 1862-1940 - Still Life Study Paris c. 1887. Charles Royer was a French artist who was born in 1848. Charles Royer's work has been offered at auction multiple times. Since 2007, the record price for this artist at auction is 7,800 USD for "Still Life With Armor", sold at Sotheby's New York in 2007. The condition of this framed artwork is good with no obvious signs of damage to the artwork but with some wear to the plaster decoration of the frame. The measurements of this framed artwork are 21 1/2" x 28 1/2" and the visible art measures 15 1/2" x 22 1/4".*
