This is a beautiful beaded feathered headdress from Cherokee Jeff Bluewater (signed) from the late-20th century from th First American Collection Indian Territory Hopki. The piece exhibit tanned Indian hide large war bonnet headdress with U.S. patriotic red, white and blue stars and strips glass trade seed beaded brow band adorned further with fur on hide bands. The temples on the side show a circa 1920-30's Native American Indian Chief high relif bronze / brass horse headstall rosette medallion with old wound glass, brass and Venetian trade beads showing a hanging Ermine hide fringe. The back shows Turkey feathers wrapped in red with red plume feathers and plume feather ends with horse tail hair whisp fringes. In a custom oak shadowbox case with written description and note on the back with Jeff Bluewater Cherokee note. Signed by Jeff Bluewater 1998 on the back. Provenance: From Cherokee Jeff Bluewater circa 1990's; Pook and Pook "Native American Indian Auction 2021 sold for $1,500. Case measures 33-inches by 19-inches by 2.5-inches deep.
