This is an original gouache painting on paper by Native American Cherokee artist Troy Anderson (b. 1948-). Troy Anderson currently resides in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. He graduated from West Texas State University with a B.A. in Art and taught art to high school students before becoming a professional artist. He has won the Grand Award and first place at the Five Tribes Museum, Cherokee National Historical Museum, The Heard Museum, and The Southwest Indian Market in Santa Fe. He is both an author and illustrator and his original artwork is exhibited in galleries and museums throughout North America and Europe. This untitled gouache painting on paper shows a Cherokee man watching as four women wrapped in blankets walk away into the wind. The emotions in this painting are moving. The painting is signed in the lower right corner. The piece is professionally matted and framed. The art measures 6 1/4" x 2 1/4" and the frame measures 11 1/2" X 7 1/2". This piece is in very good condition.
