The lot features a unique beaded flat bag from the Northern Cheyenne Native American Indians from the Otto Ernst Catalog circa 1890-1910. The bag shows an Indian tanned hide construction with period correct glass trade seed beaded geometric pattern. The piece was purchased from the King Saddlery Museum in Sheridan, Wyoming by Ted Byers. Otto Ernst was a renowned Saddle Maker who was known to purchase American Indian pieces and offer them at his shop and in his catalog. The beadwork shows along the front in a geometric pattern of semi-transparent greasy green in a radiating arrow design showing chalk white and a cobalt fancy top edge with cobalt loop handle. The bag measures 8.25”L by 6.25”W.
