The lot features a beaded hide panel from the Cheyenne Native American Indians of the early to mid 1900’s. The piece shows an Indian tanned hide construction with large rectangular beaded section with all glass trade seed beads in a geometric possible bag design. The beadwork shows a medium blue background with cobalt, greasy yellow, red white heart, medium green geometric patterns. The hide shows remnants of red ocher mineral pigment paint and appears to either be a remnant from a large piece or more likely an unfinished piece itself intended for various pieces such as a war shirt, tipi bag, dress, flat bag, etc.. The piece shows overall good condition with little to no bead loss and supple hide. Measures 14"W x 20.5"L.
