This is an excellent, hand woven flat weave rug by master weaver Alfonzo Santiago. The rug was made using 100% soft, fine, hand spun yarns in a beautiful Chief’s Blanket Second Phase pattern. The rug was hand woven with a tight weave using 100% hand spun wool yarns that offer natural variegation and durability with color fast aniline dyes. The tight hand woven weave, displayed with colorfast aniline coloration, and is in the fine Chief’s Blanket Second Phase of the time-honored Zapotec, multi-generational craft by a master weaver, Alfonzo Santiago. The rug shows a phenomenal Second Phase Chief’s Blanket (2nd Phase) pattern in the time-honored Zapotec, multi-generational craft by a master weaver, Alfonzo Santiago. This incredible example shows Alfonzo’s traditional interpretation of the 2nd Phase blanket with rich, rectangular indigo blue boxes atop a striped background in red, blues, and white (heathered grey/ tan). The piece is brand new, in pristine condition, with a fine, tight weave. The rug measures 2’ 5” by 5’ (2 foot 5 inches by 5 foot).
