Featured in this lot is this spearhead spontoon war club by Chippewa/ Cree artists Leonard and Laurie Many Trails circa 20th Century. Provenance: Made by Chippewa / Cree artists, Leonard & Laurie Many Trails in the 20th century, from the Many Trails Collection at the former Indian Nation Trading Post in Livingston, Montana. The war club features a wonderfully and professionally crafted carved wooden and antler tine construction that shows a brass spearhead design for the spontoon point with brass tacks set into the haft and shows a segment of trade seed beads with salmon, translucent medium green, and black coloration and shows a space of rabbit fur underneath underneath the point. The condition of this spontoon war club is well preserved with one of the tines broken off but otherwise shows a well preserved overall condition. The measurements of this war club is 29" x 3 3/4" x 6". The collective weight of this war club is 1lb 2oz. TURKEY FEATHER
