Featured in this lot is this Hank Chopwood (1941 - 2005) stone sculpture of a woman. The sculpture shows amazing attention to detail and texturing to the face of a woman with a solemn face as she hauls wood and holds a cane in her right hand. The artist’s signature is shown on the front of the sculpture. Native American art is part of the heritage of Phillips County. Hank Chopwood chose to create sandstone sculptures and traded them for goods with local ranchers. The condition of this sandstone sculpture is good, with no obvious signs of damage. The measurements of this stone sculpture are 10 1/4" x 7 1/4" x 6 3/4".
