English illustrator Cicely Mary Barker is well-known for her charming portrayals of fairies, especially in the "Flower Fairies" series. First published in 1927, "The Book of the Flower Fairies" is among her most well-known compositions. A delightful compilation of Barker's poems and illustrations, each book revolves around a particular flower and the fairy that represents it.
