Featured in this lot is this 1927 edition of "The Book of the Flower Fairies" by Cicely M. Barker, published by Blackie & Son Limited in London And Glasgow. English illustrator Cicely Mary Barker is well-known for her charming portrayals of fairies, especially in the "Flower Fairies" series. First published in 1927, "The Book of the Flower Fairies" is among her most well-known compositions. A delightful compilation of Barker's poems and illustrations, each book revolves around a particular flower and the fairy that represents it. Through the detailed and elaborate illustrations in "The Book of the Flower Fairies," Barker vividly depicts the whimsical world of fairies and their interactions with a variety of flowers in their natural habitats. For readers of all ages, each fairy is depicted in exquisite detail, reflecting the qualities of the flower it symbolizes. This results in a charming and enchanted experience. The book shows a green hard cover with a gold gilt title, front image and author's name. The image shows a fairy dancing while holding a flower by the stem. The book features seventy-two colored illustrations as well. The book shows good condition overall with slight wear present, but no obvious signs of damage are present.
