Featured in this lot is this set of Denix Civil War items including a Civil War limber and Civil War cannon. The Civil War limber was used to carry gunpowder for cannons. The limber was hitched to a horse team and the cannon was attached to the limber. During the fighting the limber and horse team were left behind the line of fire. The limber shows a very nice wood and metal construction with all working components. It appears to be missing one small metal piece that would hook up to the horse but overall is in good condition. The metal and wood trunk opens and closes with ease. The limber measures 6" L x 8 3/4" W x 6 1/2" H. The second item in this set is the Civil War cannon. The 1857 model, nicknamed the "Napoleon", was the most popular cannon used during the American Civil War. It made up almost 40% of the ordinance of the artillery used and it was one of the most important pieces of that conflict. The "Napoleon" cannon was widely admired for its safety, reliability, and efficiency, especially at short range. This cannon is made of metal & wood with plastic imitation wood wheels. It has working wheels and several other working parts and are museum-quality accurate. The cannon shows good condition overall with no signs of obvious damage. The cannon measures 15" L x 8 1/4" W x 6 1/2" H with wheels showing 6" in diameter.
