Offered for sale is a rare Colt 1860 Army percussion .44 caliber revolver. This revolver features an 8" barrel, brass trigger guard, and deluxe ivory handles. This was one of the most widely issued and popular of the Civil War revolvers with many, if not most, going to the West after the war for Indian Wars or frontier service. Overall, it displays an attractive deep aged patina with no evidence of having been buffed, polished, steel-wooled or cleaned. Correct 8” barrel with correct small front sight, attached loading lever functions correctly, one piece ivory grips fully intact and in good overall condition. This handsome revolver no doubt saw long service in the Civil War, and into the Indian Wars yet remains today in good condition with functional mechanics. This classic cowboy gun was found in Montana proving its westward expansion. This revolver has a manufacture date of 1863. Serial Number: 109751.
