For your consideration is this Civil War era, "Death to Abolitionist" fighting knife. The knife shows a near Gurkha style of Kukri, but it shows the clipped blade style of a Bowie fighting knife with a full tang and "Death to Abolitionist” etched into the blade. The knife shows a leather wrapped handle and a brass hilt and brass pommel. The condition of this knife is good, with no obvious signs of damage to the blade or handle; however, there is oxidation consistent with its age. The measurements of this knife are 18 1/2" x 3" x 1".
