Offered in this lot is a necklace of more than 160 Russian Cobalt and French red white heart beads dug from a Yokut Village site in the Sierra foothills in 1965. The village was located on the Tule River in Tulare County in central California near the city of Porterville. These beads date from the Spanish era of about the 1800-1810's. The Mexicans on the coast brought the European beads to trade with the Yokuts. The necklace measures 29" long and is strung on fishing line. These beads are in very good condition for their age.
