Featured in this lot are six, glass Coca-Cola bottles and two other glass soda bottles manufactured in various towns in Montana circa 1930-1989. The first four Coca-Cola bottles are from 1940-50s and have been manufactured in Lewistown, Billings, Havre and Great Falls. The towns they were manufactured in are marked on the bottom of the glasses. The glasses read, "Coca-Cola Trademark Registered Bottle Pat. D-105529 / Trademark Registered Min. Contents 6-Fl. OZS". The next two Coca-Cola bottles are from "The Big Drive of '89" taking place in Billings, Montana in 1989 for the "Route of The Great Montana Centennial Cattle Drive". The bottles show the Coca-Cola label towards the top of the bottle while the bottom shows a cowboy moving cattle and reads, "The Big Drive of '89 / Sept. 4-9 1989 / Montana" in red, white and blue lettering, while the back of the bottle shows a small route map of the Cattle Drive. Both of these bottles are full and unopened. The seventh bottle is advertising Whistle Soda. The company was founded in 1916 by Sylvester Jones, who arrived at the Vess brand name from his nickname. Charles Leiper Grigg, who would later invent 7UP, invented and marketed his first soft drink called "Whistle", an orange soda which is still sold by Vess today. The bottle was manufactured in Butte, Montana and reads, "Whistle / Thirsty? Just Whistle Reg. U.S. Pat. Off. / Guaranteed Refreshing". The back and bottom of the bottle reads, "Property of J.W. Harkins Wholesale Butte, Montana". The eighth and final bottle is from Nehi Beverages circa 1930s, manufactured in Billings, Montana. Nehi is a flavored soft drink that was first introduced in 1924 by the Chero-Cola/Union Bottle Works. The name "Nehi" is meant to remind customers that the soda comes in tall bottles that are "knee-high". The soda was created by Claud A. Hatcher, a grocer from Columbus, Georgia. The company changed its name to the Nehi Corporation in 1928. In 1955, the company changed its name to Royal Crown Company, after the success of its RC Cola brand. The bottle reads, "Nehi Beverages 9 Fluid Ounces / Reg. U.S. Pat. Off. / Minimum Contents / Nehi Bottling Co. / Billings, Montana". The bottles show good condition overall with little to no wear present and no signs of damage is noted. They measure from 7 3/4" L x 2 3/8" W to 9 3/4" L x 2 1/4" W. The bottles have a collective weight of 8 pounds and 12 ounces.
