For your consideration is this collection of obsolete Fire Department Chief and fireman badges, circa 1940's-present. There are five badges in this collection, with the first showing the oldest time frame as a brass New York Fire Department Chiefs badge - No. Hoosick. The second badge shows the most wear, with patina present; it is from Alma, Michigan Fire Department. The next badge is a S.H.S. Fire Squad fire shield with badge number 37; it shows a hallmark on the pin backing. The fourth fire shield is from Cottonwood, Arizona Fire Department and shows a hallmark on the back of the badge with a 'G'. The last badge was made by Blackinton for 5 years of service; it is from the New Underwood, South Dakota Fire Department. The condition of these badges is good, with one of the smaller badges showing its age and significant wear; it has a heavy patina adorning the face and the rear of the badge. The other badges show good overall condition. Provenance: From the famed ex-collection of Western History, Jim Aplan. The measurements of this collection of fire badges are 1 1/2" x 1" to 2 1/2" x 1 1/2".
