Featured in this lot we have a percussion cap Colt model 1862 2nd generation pocket navy revolver chambered in .36 caliber. Only 5,281 1862 Pocket Navy models were produced between December of 1979- November of 1981. They were produced in the serial number range of 48000 to 58850, with this coming in late at 52832. Additionally, the 1862 Pocket Model was produced in less numbers than the other percussion models that are occasionally encountered. This model is also referred to as the “Pocket Model of Navy Caliber.”. This revolver shows a wonderful octagonal barrel, roll engraved six-shot cylinder, case hardened frame, silver plated grip straps, walnut grips, and blue'd finish across the barrel and cylinder. The cylinder is roll engraved with a stage coach fight scene with "COLTS PATENT No 2832" on the side. The top of the barrel is marked with ADDRESS COL SAML COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA" with the left side for the frame reading "COLT"S PATENT 36 CAL". The piece shows mating serial number across the frame, barrel, and trigger guard. The revolver shows good condition with minor wear and a warm patina. It weighs 1lbs 10oz. Serial Number: 52832. This firearm qualifies as an Antique, and does not require FFL Transfer or NICS Background Check.
