Featured in this lot we have a Colt round barrel pocket model revolver with engraved cylinder and chambered in .36 caliber. The pistol displays a 3 1/2" long round barrel, engraved five shot cylinder, walnut grips, brass trigger guard, and hammer system. The revolver is marked in numerous spots with period correct roll stamping, reading: "COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG. Co. - HARTFORD. CT. U.S.A." on the top of the barrel, two line patent dates on the left side of the frame, reading "-PAT. JULY. 25. 1871-" over "-PAT. JULY. 2. 1872-", ".36 CAL" on the left side of the trigger assembly - which this revolver was converted from, and showing matching serial numbers on the bottom of the grips, barrel, frame, and trigger assembly, additionally, the cylinder shows a Colt partial serial number, accompanied by "COLTS PATENT". The cylinder is etched with a wagon raid scene across the exterior. Overall, the revolver shows good condition, with exceptional walnut grips, and a mellow patina forming on the brass backstrap, and trigger assembly. The nickel finish does show wear indicative of age. Mechanically the revolver shows temperamental action with the cylinder not rotating properly. As well, the barrel shows good condition, with strong rifling overall, but with some darkness and needs cleaning. Serial Number: 3725. This firearm qualifies as an Antique, and does not require FFL Transfer or NICS Background Check.
