The first model Dragoon is distinguished by its square back trigger guard and oval cylinder stops. The Dragoon is also marked "COLTS - PATENT" on the left side of the frame, "ADDRESS SAML COLT NEW YORK CITY" on the top of the barrel, "MODEL U.S.A.R. 26813 COLT'S PATENT", and on the butt of the grip, the trigger assembly, frame, barrel, and cylinder with matching "26813" serial numbers. The revolver utilizes oil finished walnut grips, brass trigger assembly, and grip and blue'd finish frame, cylinder, and barrel. The cylinder features an etched display of Custer's Last Stand engraved across the exterior of the cylinder. The revolver comes with its original sale box.
