This is an original rare Colt Model 1860 Army percussion revolver with fluted cylinder manufactured by Colt from their Colt Signature Series and chambered in .44 caliber. The revolver features an 8" barrel, fluted 6 shot cylinder, walnut grips, brass trigger guard, brass blade front sight, and hammer notch rear sight. The Colt Model 1860 was originally issued and used during the Civil War, with many, if not most, going to the West after the war for use in the Indian Wars or frontier service with fluted cylinder examples being scarcely issued. Overall, the revolver shows a factory original attractive deep shiny blue finish across the fluted cylinder, barrel, screws, grip frame backstrap, and barrel wedge with the frame, ramrod / lever and hammer being beautifully case hardened showing a rich coloring. The trigger guard and strap are solid brass with a nice coloring. The piece is in all original factory condition nearly mint with some slight scratching, scuffing and handling wear, along with dings in the walnut grips. This revolver also features the correct 8” barrel with sharp and clear Colt one line address on top, correct small front sight, attached loading lever functions correctly, one piece walnut grips fully intact. It is in excellent overall condition. The cylinder is marked "Pat. Sept. 10th 1860". The frame, trigger guard, and barrel are marked with matching serial numbers. The revolver displays wonderful condition with tight mechanics and blue'd patina. Serial Number: 208283.
