Featured in this lot we have a Colt Match Target semi automatic pistol chambered in .22 LR. This pistol was manufacture by Colt in 1970. The Colt Match Target is a version of the Colt Woodsman with the other variant being a Colt Sport pistol. The woodsman was manufactured from 1915 all the way to 1977 with a total of 3 series throughout its production with the first series seeing use by the U.S. Gov in WWII. This pistol is a second series Woodsman Match Target which featured a heavier frame, automatic slide stop, magazine safety, and had the magazine release behind the trigger guard rather than on the heel of the grip. This pistol displays a 6" long barrel, hard plastic grips, semi auto action, 10 shot magazine, iron sights, and a blue'd finish. Its marked across the left side reading "COLT'S MFG. CO. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A. U.S. PAT. D-121,317" on the barrel, with the Colt horse logo with "MATCH TARGET" underneath and finally the slide is marked "COLT AUTOMATIC CAL. 22 LONG RIFLE". mechanically the pistol shows a smooth action and crisp trigger. It shows both intact plastic grips as well as a plastic spacer on the back of the grip. The pistol shows good condition overall with some wear across the finish from use and the grip show some cracking and warping towards the bottom. The pistol weighs 2lbs 6oz. Serial Number: 125523-S. This firearm qualifies as a Curio & Relic firearm, and requires FFL Transfer or NICS Background Check.
