For your consideration is a US Colt Model 1902 Philippine Constabulary double action revolver. The Colt Model 1902 Double Action Revolver is from the lot of approximately 4600 revolvers purchased for issue to the Philippine Constabulary. The revolver has the distinctive oversize trigger guard and elongated trigger which are unique to the Model 1902 double action revolver. The revolver has a bird's head butt with two-piece, black, checkered, hard rubber grips. The grips feature the Rampant Colt trademark in an oval. A casehardened, swivel, lanyard loop is fitted on the butt. The top of the barrel is roll-stamped: "COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG. Co. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A." in a single line. The caliber designation,"45 COLT." is roll-stamped on the left side of the barrel. The underside of the barrel is stamped with a "K" Colt inspection mark and an Ordnance "P" proof. The right side of the frame has a "U.S." property mark stamped above the trigger guard bow and the Ordnance inspector's initials "JTT" stamped just above the top of the right grip and the date "1902" in front of it. The Ordnance sub-inspector's initials "R.A.C." are stamped on the left front trigger guard bow. The encircled Rampant Colt trademark is stamped on the lower left side of the frame just ahead of the grip. The rear face of the cylinder is stamped with "R.A.C.", a "P" proofmark and the partial serial number "7926". The partial serial number "7926" is also stamped on the rear face of the loading gate. The revolver shows a beautiful gray patina indicative of its age. Serial Number: 47926. Manufacture date of 1900.
