Offered for sale is a early rare Colt Open Top Pocket Model .22 Caliber Spur Trigger revolver. The rare revolver shows the two line Hartford Colt address and was manufactured in 1875. This revolver features a 7 shot cylinder, spur trigger, 2 3/8" barrel, with brass and straight grain walnut grip. The earliest examples were shipped with a 2-7/8" barrel, an attached ejector rod housing and a high hammer rotile. Most were plated, some were blue'd and plated. Colt reduced the length of the barrels to 2-3/8" but retained the ejector housing. After a short period the .22 was redesigned and the ejector housing was omitted. Eventually, the high hammer profile was replaced with a lower profile. This revolver is in good condition for its age, showing wear mostly on the screw under the barrel. The barrel and cylinder have been refinished. A light patina is present on the brass frame, dark bore, working action, visible markings and good grips. The revolver was manufactured in 1875. Serial Number: 51418. This firearm qualifies as an Antique, and does not require FFL Transfer or NICS Background Check.
