This is a Colt's Officer Model six shot double action revolver chambered in the .38 Special cartridge. In 1904 Colt introduced its first medium frame double action target model revolver as the Colt Officer's Model. The Officer's Model was always Colt's premium revolver until the introduction of the super-premium Python in 1955. The revolver was manufactured in 1928 and features a blue’d finish with checkered walnut grips with inlaid Rampant Pony medallions. The barrel measures 6" and features a two line address marked "Colt's Pt. F.A. Mfg. Co. Hartford Conn. U.S.A. Pat’d Aug. 5.1884. June 5.1900 April 9.01 July 4.06." and "Officers Model .38". The revolver shows good condition with holster wear to the end of the barrel and the cylinder. The revolver also comes with a Colt factory letter showing the firearm shipped to Montana Hardware Company in Butte, Montana. This firearm was sold to a police officer in Butte.
