This is an excellent bi-point stone head war club from the Comanche Native American Indians dating to circa 1890’s. The piece features a stone head with double point being expertly carved with a nice smooth shiny finish which is secured to the wood handle being inset at the center and wrapped with a single strap of parfleche rawhide which flows into the hide covered haft. The hide is sewn with sinew and shows a nice green ocher mineral pigment paint with a nice honest wear. Provenance: From a historic Eastern Montana American Indian Collection, where the piece was found to be an authentic original, one of the finest collections of American Indian weaponry and antiquities in Montana. Measures 17.5”L by 6”L by 2” thick.
