Featured in this lot is this Continental School, 19th century gentleman oil portrait. The portrait features a wonderfully and professionally crafted oil on canvas construction stretched on a wooden frame. The portrait is of a Man that is clean shaven with a gentleman's suit on with his right hand held up. These portraits would have taken weeks if not months to paint and were used to capture the likeness of the individual. The condition of this oil on canvas painting shows some wear tot he canvas of the painting and a hole in the bottom portion of the painting and to the outside wrapping of the frame of the painting. The measurements of the painting is 35" x 29" x 1".
