Featured in this lot is this Crockett silver overlay floral concho bridle bit. The bit shows a curb design with crooked shank decorated in silver overlay, a floral concho where the curb bit connects, and silver overlay decorated slobber bar. In 1920, Crockett bought Shipley’s bit and spur making department and started the Crockett Bit and Spur Company. Crockett produced a wide array of styles and published catalogs to advertise them. If there was a popular style cowboys were looking for, Crockett made sure he could sell it to them. Since then, these pieces have become highly collectible. The condition of this bridle bit is good, with oxidation and patina consistent with the age of the bit. The measurements of this bridle bit are 7 1/2" x 6" x 2 3/8".
