This is a fantastic authentic circa 1800's beaded signal mirror flat pouch with flap from the Crow Apsaalooke Native American Indians. The piece shows an Indian tanned hide construction which is trade thread sewn and adorned with beadwork using all period correct 19th Century glass trade seed beads. The beadwork shows a geometric pattern in chalk white, cobalt, corn yellow, sky blue and red. The hide is in nice supple pliable condition and the piece shows only a few bead loss. The piece would have held a small signal mirror used by scouts during hunts and war parties, truly a rare original piece. The measurements of this pouch 3.5”x3 3/8” when closed and 6.75”L when opened.
