The lot features a unique, Crow Native American Indians beaded flat bag from the Otto Ernst Catalog, circa 1890-1910. The bag shows an Indian tanned hide construction with period correct glass trade seed beaded geometric pattern. The piece was purchased from the King Saddlery Museum in Sheridan, Wyoming by Ted Byers. Otto Ernst was a renowned saddle maker who was known to purchase American Indian pieces and offer them at his shop and in his catalog. One side shows blue and green, four beaded line square “tracks” with a red and white heart cross at the center; the other side has four line square “tracks” in an “x” design with an outside border. The bag measures 6.5”x6” with an additional 2.25”L Indian hide belt tie.
