Offered in this sale is a nice miniature parfleche beaded box for the daughter of Crow Chief John Grey Bull from circa 1915-1930. This miniature beaded piece was made for and is from Dolly Grey Bull and shows a parfleche beaded box. The piece shows a parfleche rawhide construction with hide and trade thread sewing having a polychrome mineral pigment geometric pattern in green, red , blue and yellow along with a fancy beaded edge in all period correct trade glass seed beads in chalk white, green and red. The parfleche is likely a remnant from a larger piece of an older age being re-used. Provenance: From a historic Eastern Montana American Indian Collection, where the piece was found to be an authentic original, one of the finest collections of American Indian weaponry and antiquities in Montana. Measures 2”x2 3/8”x1.5”. The flap measures 3”H when open. Measurements don’t include hide fringe / ties.
