The lot features a circa 1880’s child’s hide and fabric doll with beadwork from the Crow Native American Indians. This 19th Century example comes with a museum collection tag, as shown. The doll shows a stuffed calico trade cloth structure with Indian tanned hide ties, which is adorned with a four-strand, early glass trade seed beaded necklace in colors of blue, black, yellow, red, and more. The piece shows a nice patina and coloring from honest age and use. Provenance: From a large American Indian collection in Billings, Montana. Measures 10.25” L by 2.25” W.
