Included in this lot is a Crow Native American Indian Parfleche headdress case. The case shows a tapered cylinder construction, crafted entirely of parfleche leather. Three sides of the case are finished with mineral dye paints, showing traditional geometric motif, and is fastened down the middle with long-cut hide fringe. Each side of the case is finished with a mirrored design of stacked triangles. Additionally, the parfleche cap of the case is tied down with hide fringe. The case originates from a prominent Billings, Montana Native American Indian collector, the seller claims the case to originate from circa 1900-. The case shows good condition overall, it does show some bug damage. With one notable hole near the bottom of the case. The case measures 18 3/4" long (without the additional length of fringe), 5" across the top.
